Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

Until 2004, Guangzhou airport was located within the city limits - it could not expand and was constantly overcrowded. To solve the problem, another airport, more suitable for such a large center, was built in the capital of Guangdong Province. The name remained the same, and the complex itself was located 28 km from the city center. The new Baiyun is 5 times larger than the previous one, by the way, the project has already invested 19.8 billion yuan.

The modern Guangzhou airport, unlike the old one, accepts and releases airplanes around the clock. This, of course, has simplified the work of airlines - now intercontinental flights can depart late in the evening. New Baiyun is already considered one of China's busiest airports. And next year, when the second terminal opens, it will be able to receive up to 80 million passengers a year.

What to do at the airport while you wait for your plane?
In the airport building you will find everything a person needs while traveling. There are ATMs, currency exchange offices, newsstands, post office, pharmacies, many stores, including duty free, as well as restaurants of not only Chinese but also European cuisine. Information desks and lockers are located on the first and third floors. It is good to see that the information desk staff speaks English.

In the departure hall there are several children's playrooms, and in the arrival hall there is a mother and child room and a first aid station. There is free Wi-Fi on the territory of the terminal. In addition, computers, fax machines and printers are available in the business centers on the first and third floors of the airport. The complex also includes two hotels - the luxurious Pullman Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and the budget New Airport Hotel.

Pullman Guangzhou Guangzhou Baiyun Airport is a 5-minute walk from the terminal. An international class hotel, it has conference facilities and even a golf course. The three-star New Airport Hotel is more for the Chinese themselves, who come here for business meetings.

How to get to Guangzhou Airport?
